This position is for an After-Hours Social Service Specialist in Moses Lake, WA, operating on-call during non-business hours (evenings, weekends, and holidays) to respond to and investigate reports of child abuse and neglect. The role involves rapid, in-person responses within the assigned county to assess child safety, conduct investigations, and gather information. The position offers scheduling flexibility based on availability and provides an opportunity to gain experience, supplement income, and advance a career in social services. The goal class is Social Service Specialist 3, but candidates at the Social Service Specialist 2 level with a training plan will also be considered. The role requires performing visits in unregulated environments, such as private residences, to conduct investigations for allegations of abuse and/or neglect to assess the safety of vulnerable children. A mandatory 9.5-week Worker Core Training (WCT) is required upon hire, including four weeks at a Seattle training site, with travel and accommodation costs covered for eligible employees.
