About The Position

HOKALI is seeking After Care Educators to support students during after-school hours at Eastside Union School District. The role focuses on general supervision and support for students from Transitional Kindergarten (TK) through 8th grade, helping maintain a safe, supportive environment and providing opportunities for recreation, learning, and positive social interaction.

Educators plan and lead engaging recreational activities, assist with homework as needed, encourage teamwork, and manage behavior using positive reinforcement and consistent practices. They also maintain attendance, incident, and parent-communication records; organize snack time and outdoor play; and prepare activity materials and spaces. The posting also describes leading classes and workshops, creating a stimulating learning environment in an area of expertise, supervising students during sessions, and promoting skill development and interest in the discipline.

The schedule is Monday through Friday, starting in mid-January. Before starting, educators must be willing and able to complete three hours of online training covering concussion training, mandated reporter requirements, and First Aid and CPR. HOKALI provides access to its Academy for professional growth, structured lesson plans that educators can adapt, and opportunities to contribute ideas.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability and willingness to complete three hours of online training before the start date, covering concussion training, mandated reporter requirements, and First Aid and CPR.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students from Transitional Kindergarten (TK) through 8th grade and ensure their safety and well-being.
• Plan and lead engaging recreational activities, classes, and workshops.
• Assist students with homework and provide academic support as needed.
• Facilitate positive social interactions and encourage teamwork.

• Organize and oversee snack time and outdoor play.
