About The Position

The Athletic and Fitness Center is seeking someone with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to work as the front desk as well as an interest in athletics and operations to assist with game day management for Chatham University sports. The ideal candidate must be dependable, punctual and able to work in a fast-paced environment. This position includes but is not limited to patrolling the building, cleaning weight equipment, managing the facility, answering the phone, answering patron questions, assisting with setting up of events/games, operating scoreboards, in-game record keeping, and assisting with other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

  • Must meet in person at least once per semester.
  • Students may not work more than 20 hours per week (combined between all campus jobs) during the academic year.
  • Students may not exceed 980 work hours per calendar year.

Responsibilities

  • Monitoring facility by greeting AFC users and answering telephone.
  • Assist with equipment maintenance including cleaning machines in the weight room etc. for AFC users.
  • Updating AFC signs
  • Assisting members of AFC by completing clerical tasks such as word processing, scheduling and verbal communication skills.
  • Work the clock at sports such as soccer, volleyball, and hockey
  • Be able to perform essential in-game skills such as book in basketball
  • Be able to perform skilled positions such as line judge for volleyball and scoresheet for hockey
  • Adhere to dress code
  • Assist the game supervisors in any other capacity
  • Completing other duties as assigned by the supervisor for this position.
  • Student staff must participate in online and in person training sessions provided by the HR.
