About The Position

The Aesthetician is an important member of the clinical and aesthetic team and is responsible for providing high-quality elective skincare services in accordance with practice protocols and applicable state regulations. The Aesthetician provides personalized consultations, performs appropriate aesthetic treatments, educates patients on skincare and home-care regimens, and recommends products and services based on each patient's individual needs and goals. This position is also responsible for creating an exceptional patient experience, developing long-term patient relationships, and supporting patient retention and continued skincare treatment. This position will primarily work out of our Maryville location during the week, with Saturdays worked at our Knoxville location.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Active and unrestricted Tennessee aesthetician license required.

Nice To Haves

• At least one year of hands-on aesthetician experience in a medical spa, dermatology, plastic surgery, or similar aesthetic setting preferred.
• Experience with medical-grade skincare products and aesthetic devices preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and patient-service skills.
• Ability to establish rapport with patients and understand their individual aesthetic goals and concerns.
• Strong knowledge of skincare, aesthetic treatments, medical-grade skincare products, treatment protocols, infection control, and sanitation.
• Ability to appropriately recommend products and services based on patient needs.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Dependable, trustworthy, professional, and able to maintain patient confidentiality.
• Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with physicians, advanced practice providers, aestheticians, and other members of the practice.
• Ability to manage schedules and responsibilities across multiple practice locations as needed.
• Comfortable educating patients about treatment options and developing long-term treatment and skincare plans.

Responsibilities

• Provide complimentary skincare consultations and assess patients' individual skincare needs, concerns, and goals.
• Recommend appropriate skincare treatments, services, products, and home-care regimens based on each patient's needs and desired outcomes.
• Perform aesthetic services within the scope of the Aesthetician's Tennessee license and in accordance with established practice protocols.
• Educate patients regarding recommended treatments, products, pre-treatment preparation, and post-treatment care.
• Develop treatment plans designed to help patients achieve their skincare goals and encourage appropriate ongoing maintenance and follow-up care.
• Recognize concerns or conditions requiring evaluation by a medical provider and seek physician or advanced practice provider guidance when appropriate.
• Maintain complete and accurate patient records, including treatments performed, products used or recommended, relevant patient history, and patient education provided.
• Provide an exceptional patient experience and build strong, long-term relationships that support patient satisfaction and retention.
• Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked treatment rooms and work areas.
• Assist with general office responsibilities, including answering phones when needed and when not actively providing patient care.
• Work collaboratively with providers, aestheticians, front-office staff, and other team members to ensure continuity of care and a positive patient experience.
• Monitor aesthetic equipment for proper operation and assist with maintaining equipment in accordance with manufacturer recommendations and practice protocols.
• Maintain treatment rooms and work areas in accordance with applicable OSHA, infection-control, sanitation, and safety standards.
• Participate in required staff meetings, training sessions, and continuing education programs.
• Assist with monitoring retail and professional product inventory.
• Communicate inventory and supply needs and assist with ordering, receiving, stocking, and organizing products and treatment supplies as needed.
• Maintain knowledge of available skincare products, aesthetic services, treatment protocols, promotions, and new technologies offered by the practice.
• Support practice initiatives, events, promotions, and patient-education efforts as needed.
• Maintain an active and unrestricted Tennessee aesthetician license and complete all continuing education necessary to maintain licensure.
• Perform other duties reasonably related to the position as assigned.
