About The Position

Tyonek is performing operations and sustainment support for the Customs and Border Protection Air and Marine Operations office. Tyonek is seeking an Aerostat Operator Level I. The successful candidate will have experience supporting aerostat flight operations on platforms similar in size to the TARS aerostats.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of one year experience in a technical or mechanical field or served in any branch of the US Armed Forces
  • Microsoft software experience required.
  • Must be a US resident and possess a valid US Driver's License
  • Successfully completion of Background Investigation with a Favorable Suitability Determination, and issuance of DHS Suitability determination.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an Aerostat certification and adjust to working in a 24hr work environment.
  • Ability to work independently and with a team.
  • Ability to adapt to changing technology.

Nice To Haves

  • Military experience is preferred.
  • Aerostat experience is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support aerostat pre-launch, launch, ascent, transition, station keeping, and recovery.
  • Perform recurring equipment maintenance on aerostat and radar systems.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues.
  • Read and understand schematics, technical drawings, and engineering data and reports.
  • Calibrate equipment.
  • Support the site operations in the areas such as security, landscaping and logistics.
  • Performs a variety of administrative and technical operator functions.
  • Creates documents using Microsoft Office products.
  • Reports directly to the Shift lead.
  • Other duties as assigned.
