About The Position

AIT is the world's largest provider of automation, factory integration and tooling solutions dedicated to the global aerospace, defense, and space launch vehicle industries. This position is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Assembly department by performing essential duties and responsibilities. The role requires working a night shift from 4:30 PM to 1:30 AM, with potential overtime including weekends. A night shift premium of $2/hr is offered.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Six months to one-year related experience and/or training.
  • Reads and understands blueprints, schematics, and/or measuring devices.
  • Follows processes and standard procedures.
  • Uses hand tools and power tools.
  • Understands how to use computers, including tasks such as turning the computer on and off, locating and opening files, navigating to websites, performing searches, and downloading files.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of jig and fixture building, tool and die making, machine shop theory & practice.

Responsibilities

  • Read, understand, and follow advanced job order specifications, blueprints, work instructions and procedures.
  • Lift, load, sort, and move materials, supplies, and finished products between storage and work areas, using push-cart, hoist, or dolly.
  • Assemble components accurately, thoroughly and quickly to approved specifications.
  • Operate equipment in a safe manner and use safe work habits.
  • Assemble components by examining connections for correct fit; fastening parts and sub-assemblies with hand tools, power tools, or bench machines.
  • Inspect, test, and verify accuracy of assembled article for conformance to standards, using measuring or testing equipment, or by visual examination. Inform supervisors of any parts or equipment defects to ensure prompt response to the problem.
  • Adjust, repair, or replace defective product parts, using hand tools, power tools, or bench machines.
  • Clean dust, dirt, and other foreign matter from material or machine surfaces, using cleaning solution, rag, air hose.
  • Measure and mark reference lines and points on parts according to specifications, using template, rule, or marking device.
  • Cut materials, such as fabric, metal, paper, or wood into specified dimensions or shapes, using cutting machine, scissors, or knife.
  • Rotate through multiple stations on a shift to ensure maximum alertness and preparation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
