About The Position

Watring is seeking an experienced Aerospace Technician with an electrical/instrumentation background to install mechanical and electrical components in a manufacturing setting on flight hardware. The selected candidates will be joining a team of technicians currently supporting numerous projects across multiple areas. Candidates with electrical and or instrumentation backgrounds will be preferred to support future business needs. Cimarron is hiring two team members for this role. We would like to bring on one full-time and one part-time hire. Otherwise, both seats will be filled as full-time. We encourage applicants seeking either arrangement to apply and indicate their preferred schedule. This position is expected to last 4 to 12 months with the possibility of extension.

Requirements

  • Due to facility security requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for consideration.
  • Ability to work in an agile environment and flexible hours to meet current requirements.
  • Wire stripping, soldering, and interconnecting electrical components.
  • Experience using and recording traceable equipment to install and inspect components.
  • Previous experience in harness routing and assembly of circular Mil-Spec connectors.
  • Proficient with variety of measuring instruments such as multi-meters, calipers, scales, and rulers in both metric and imperial units.
  • Knowledgeable in AC/DC fundamentals such as voltage, resistance, series/parallel circuits.
  • Ability to interpret drawings, Manufacturing Work Instructions (MWI’s), Bill of Materials (BOM’s) to execute the task at hand.
  • Ability to work in a team environment but be proactive as an individual.
  • Must be able to occasionally work in odd positions from aerial lifts to access hard to reach areas and in confined spaces.
  • General shop skills including hand and power tool operation, Foreign Object Debris (FOD) prevention, material handling, safety, electrostatic discharge (ESD), and contamination control.
  • Must be well versed in safety regulations including identifying, reporting, and correcting safety issues.
  • Ability to pass a physical examination (visual acuity, color perception, respiratory, and etc.) to meet production certification and safety requirements.
  • High School Diploma and 2 years of experience or Associates Degree.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance to meet future business needs.
  • Certification of IPC or NASA standards, specifically for soldering, crimping, and connector assembly.
  • Formal experience will be considered.
  • Experience installing, inspecting, testing, and terminating strain gages.
  • Experience conducting wire harness installation tests including dielectric withstanding, insulation resistance, and continuity.
  • Experience installing strain gages on various materials such as aluminum and composite.
  • General knowledge of production quality systems and requirements in daily operations
  • Knowledge in lean manufacturing principles and methods and the ability to apply knowledge to streamline operations and eliminate waste

Responsibilities

  • Installation of electrical harnesses, instrumentation, and grounding systems.
  • Splice electrical components such as pressure transducers and temperature sensors.
  • Troubleshoot and repair/replace electrical components.
  • Torquing of fasteners to install components onto flight hardware.
  • Installation of cable management components such as Click Bond ® mounts.
  • Mixing and applying two-part adhesives and epoxies.
  • Perform work according to manufacturing instructions.
  • Record data as required in an AS9100 certified environment.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
