About The Position

Align Aerospace is seeking an experienced Aerospace Quality Specialist to join their team in Chatsworth, CA. This role is for an individual who excels in aerospace quality problem-solving, pays close attention to detail, and makes confident decisions. The position offers paid training for career growth, enhancing aerospace knowledge, customer/supplier interaction, and providing a clear career path. The specialist will be responsible for the quality process from First Article Inspections (FAIs) to root cause investigations, collaborating with suppliers and customers to resolve and prevent issues. This is a hands-on role in a busy warehouse setting where accuracy and action are paramount.

Requirements

  • 3–5+ years of hands-on inspection experience in aerospace, medical devices, or other high-precision manufacturing environments utilizing all levels of FAI techniques.
  • Proficient in navigating inspection software, SAP/ERP systems, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Expertise with tools such as micrometers, calipers, ring/thread gauges, CMM, and optical comparators.
  • Deep familiarity with AS9100, AS9102, ISO 9001, FAI's, and customer quality requirements.
  • Strong decision-making skills with a sharp eye for detail; experience leading FAIs and making critical judgments.
  • Strong organizational skills for managing paperwork and multitasking electronically in a fast-paced environment.
  • High focus and grit, comfortable working at a desk inspecting in a warm, active warehouse environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Internal auditor certifications (AS9100 or ASQ CQA/CQI).
  • Experience using Net-Inspect or other similar inspection systems.
  • Delegated source inspector credentialing.
  • SAE or similar inspection certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct advanced First Article Inspections (FAIs) using micrometers, calipers, ring/thread gauges, optical comparators, and more.
  • Analyze engineering drawings, blueprints, and customer specifications using GD&T.
  • Investigate and resolve supplier and customer non-conformances.
  • Work through quality portals to manage customer claims and rejections.
  • Log NCRs and inspection results into SAP and Excel.
  • Lead or support internal/external audits, including supplier corrective actions.
  • Collaborate across departments including Production, Sales, Customer Service, and Quality.
  • Mentor junior inspectors and help elevate team standards.
