About the position
Archer, an aerospace company based in San Jose, California, is seeking a highly experienced individual to join their team. The role involves leading the creation of verification strategies, plans, and procedures for their all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft. The successful candidate will collaborate with various teams to develop and verify complex hardware/software systems, perform software analyses and testing, and contribute to process improvement. A degree in engineering or a related field, along with extensive experience in a related field, is required.
Responsibilities
- Lead the creation of verification strategies, plans, and procedures, including test equipment and environments, scheduling, prioritizing, and tracking the project
- Work with the Electric Engine Controls (EEC), Battery Management Systems (BMS), and Core/Platform teams to write, review, validate, and verify item requirements of high-level and low-level software requirements to ensure compliance with DO-178C
- Create high-level and low-level test frameworks that allow complex verification of real-time inputs and outputs and satisfy Tool Qualification objectives
- Work with a multi-disciplinary team to develop, verify, and validate complex hardware/software systems
- Perform software analyses, requirements-based testing, and structural coverage analysis
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes to increase safety and efficiency
- Collaborate with quality and certification teams
- Provide mentorship to junior team members
Requirements
- Lead the creation of verification strategies, plans, and procedures
- Work with Electric Engine Controls (EEC), Battery Management Systems (BMS), and Core/Platform teams to validate and verify software requirements

- Degree in engineering or related field
- 10+ years of experience in a related field
- At least a BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related degree
- Experience configuring and deploying real-time COTS or in-house test hardware
- Experience with full lifecycle safety critical software complying with safety standards like DO-178C or ISO 26262
- Experience developing verification strategies and test environments
- Fluency with widely used scripting languages like bash and Python
- Experience with debuggers and lab instruments
- Proficiency in Excel
