About The Position

Segula Technologies is seeking an experienced Aerospace Design Engineer to provide technical solutions for production line issues related to structural and system installations. This role involves providing technical direction to junior engineers, managing design activities, and ensuring effective collaboration with various departments, customers, and quality assurance. The engineer will maintain up-to-date technical knowledge of airframe structures and interface closely with Stress, Systems, Manufacturing, Quality, and test groups. Responsibilities include preparing structural and systems layouts, interface drawings, installations, assembly, and detail drawings, as well as supporting design and program reviews and reporting project status to management.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university
• Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in airframe primary and secondary structures design including systems installations
• Understanding of airframe configuration, optimization, loads, stress analysis, materials, manufacturing processes, tooling concepts and structural in-service requirements
• Expertise in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (ASME Y14.5), Dimensional Management, and ability to perform manufacturing tolerance stack ups
• Experience with CATIA V5/Enovia or Teamcenter/NX
• Understanding of civil aircraft certification rules and certification procedures
• Strong leadership, communication and inter-personal skills
• Ability to work in a cross functional team environment and interact on a daily basis with other professionals and technicians
• Good working knowledge of computer software such as Microsoft Office, CATIA V5, Enovia, Knowledge Based Engineering (KBE), etc.

Nice To Haves

• Certification in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (ASME Y14.5)
• Experience on Bombardier business jet platforms is a definite asset, specifically Global 7500.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical solutions to production line for all structural and system installation issues
• Provide technical direction to junior design engineers to accomplish day-to-day tasks
• Ensure effective management of assigned design activities by closely working with other engineering departments, internal and external customers, Methods, Quality and Procurement
• Maintaining technical knowledge and awareness of developments related to airframe structures
• Closely interface with Stress, Systems, Manufacturing, Quality and test groups
• Prepare structural and systems layouts, interface drawings, installations, assembly and detail drawings
• Support design and program reviews with partners/suppliers
• Status projects for functional management
