About The Position

This position is for an Aerospace and Drone Technology Teacher at The Academy @ Shawnee for the 2026-2027 school year. The role involves planning, organizing, and delivering instruction based on approved curriculum, monitoring and evaluating student progress, maintaining records, enforcing policies, supervising students, and maintaining school property and materials.

Requirements

• Kentucky Certification and endorsements appropriate to the technical program assignment
• Successful and appropriate occupational experiences and academic preparation approved and required by the Board and Kentucky Administrative Regulations
• Effective communication skills
• Applicant must be a US Citizen with a high school diploma or GED
• Four (4) years of successful and appropriate occupational experience in the teaching area
• At least two (2) years of occupational experience completed within the last five (5) years
• Hold a professional teaching certification for the appropriate course code as listed under https://applications.education.ky.gov/SCCD/Home/Index OR Meet Occupation-based teaching requirements
• Complete both the JCPS employment application AND the attached "CA-3 form" document
• Provide detailed information regarding all relevant experience and job tasks on the CA-3 form

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a diverse workplace
• A maximum of one (1) year of the required work experience may be satisfied by completion of an accredited occupational preparation program for the occupation to be taught
• Completion of three (3) semester hours of credit in the occupational area, OR successfully completing the New Teacher Institute (NTI)
