About The Position

The Aerie Host/Hostess is responsible for greeting guests, escorting them to tables, and providing menus. This role helps coordinate dining room activity to ensure efficient, fast, and courteous service to all patrons. The Host/Hostess serves as the first impression of Aerie, always greeting guests pleasantly and with a smile. They will answer phone calls, enter reservations into the Open Table system, and fulfill special guest requests regarding seating or other arrangements. This position requires attention to detail in noting reservation details and communicating special requests to servers. The Host/Hostess also communicates when a table is ready to be sat to the server assistant or server. Maintaining cleanliness and organization of the station, coat room, and storage area is also a key responsibility, along with checking coats.

Requirements

• A minimum of 1-3 years of experience in food and beverage.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Previous work experience within an upscale high volume establishment.
• Knowledge of fine dining.
• Good knowledge of wines/beverages.
• Previous fine dining restaurant experience.
• Must possess the ability to multi-task several projects at once.
• Must be able to climb stairs and walk on uneven surfaces on an occasional basis.
• Must be able to bend, squat, push, and pull frequently.
• Must be able to perform simple grasping, fine manipulation, and repetitive hand & arm movements frequently; squeezing and overhead reaching occasionally.
• Able to deal with stress associated with fast-paced work environment.
• Make judgment decisions and adapt to changing work situations.
• Grasp and apply new ideas.
• Communicate with various personalities at all levels.
• Must be able to work under pressure.
• Must have excellent listening skills.
• Must have the ability to deal effectively and interact well with the guests and associates.
• Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.
• Must have a passion for creating an exceptional experience for all guests.
• Must be able to pass a background investigation and drug screen as a condition of employment.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience working in a hospitality role is preferred.
• Understanding of full service environment.
