About The Position

The Aerial Lineman builds and maintains aerial telephone systems, which may include aerial and underground facilities. The role is 100% field-based and involves constructing new services and upgrades, maintaining equipment and facilities, and working with customers, utility owners, and government officials. The employee must be able to work outdoors in all weather, respond to emergency outages, and travel away from home when needed.

Requirements

A minimum of two years’ experience as an Aerial Groundman is preferred.
Thorough understanding of aerial utility installation, safety regulations, and work methods associated with aerial line work.
Valid driver’s license.
Ability to pass pre-employment screenings.
Demonstrated field experience working with aerial crews.
Thorough knowledge of electricity, pole-line materials, proper and safe use of tools and equipment used in line construction and maintenance, aerial safety codes and practices, and work methods associated with aerial line work.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Willingness to learn.
Ability to read, comprehend, and carry out instructions.
Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

Class A CDL preferred.
A minimum of two years’ experience as an Aerial Groundman is preferred.

Responsibilities

Plan and initiate projects.
Interact with customers, utility owners, and governmental officials.
Establish and follow OSHA and customer safety requirements.
Assist with construction of new aerial and underground services and service upgrades.
Train and mentor Aerial Groundman.
Perform tree trimming or route clearing.
Use and care for specialized hand tools and required equipment.
Operate heavy equipment such as diggers and bucket trucks.
Maintain required equipment and tools.
Follow company and manufacturer safety procedures and industry safety standards, and attend mandatory safety meetings.
