About The Position

The Aerial Construction Lineman constructs strand infrastructure and lashes fiber cables to strand. The role operates bucket trucks and other equipment related to aerial fiber construction, sets up strand and fiber trailers and caddies, and performs aerial construction work according to industry specifications and safety requirements. The position follows directions from the crew leader and may perform other duties assigned by a supervisor or manager.

Requirements

Valid Class A CDL license.
Aerial construction knowledge.
Coax experience.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Combination of technical training and/or experience.
One year of relevant experience.
Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position.
Ability to work nights and weekends if necessary.
Ability to work in all weather conditions.
Authorization to work in the United States.
Ability to pass drug, background, DOT, and MVR screenings.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in a construction environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

Operate bucket trucks and other equipment related to aerial fiber construction.
Set up the job, including the strand trailer, fiber trailer, and caddies.
Understand clearance requirements for other utilities, the ground, roads, highways, sidewalks, and nonpedestrian areas.
Frame poles according to industry specifications.
Lash and over-lash single and multiple bundles of fiber cables.
Read and interpret network prints.
Safely climb poles using gaffs or ladders.
Follow OSHA safety requirements to complete jobs safely and efficiently.
Communicate frequently by phone throughout the workday.
Follow directions from the crew leader.
Perform other duties as assigned.
