About The Position

The Aerial Construction Lineman constructs strand infrastructure and lashes fiber cables to strand. The position operates bucket trucks and other equipment used in aerial fiber construction, sets up job equipment, interprets network prints, and completes work in accordance with industry specifications and OSHA safety requirements. The employee follows direction from the crew leader, communicates frequently by phone throughout the workday, and performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Combination of technical training and/or experience.
One year of relevant experience.
Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position.
Must be able to work nights and weekends if necessary.
Must be able to work in all weather conditions.
Valid driver's license.
Authorized to work in the United States.
Must pass drug, background, DOT, and MVR screenings.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in a construction environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

Operate a bucket truck and other equipment related to aerial fiber construction.
Set up the job, including the strand trailer, fiber trailer, and caddies.
Understand clearance requirements involving other utilities, the ground, roads, highways, sidewalks, and nonpedestrian areas.
Frame poles according to industry specifications.
Lash or over-lash single and multiple bundles of fiber cables.
Read and interpret network prints.
Safely climb poles using gaffs or ladders.
Follow OSHA safety requirements to complete jobs safely and efficiently.
Communicate by phone frequently throughout the workday.
Follow directions from the crew leader.
Perform other duties as assigned.
