About The Position

We’re looking for a AEO/GEO Specialist who will be a key technical contributor to Tallwave's AI Visibility service. This role focuses on how clients appear in AI search engines like ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, and Claude, as well as Google AI Mode. The responsibilities include measuring baseline visibility, diagnosing reasons for a brand's absence, implementing fixes within client organizations, and attributing improvements to the service. The role operates at the intersection of marketing, technical SEO, data, automation, and AI, requiring strong technical fundamentals, a builder mentality, and the curiosity to develop expertise in this emerging field. The work involves operating, verifying, troubleshooting, and improving automated systems rather than manual execution, with a focus on identifying and automating repetitive processes. The position reports to the Head of Delivery and collaborates with strategy, product design, and marketing practitioners. As the role evolves, there will be increasing ownership of AI Visibility tooling, automation, measurement methodology, and service capabilities. The core responsibility is to deliver exceptionally.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience in technical SEO, marketing engineering, growth engineering, marketing analytics, web development, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience using AI/LLMs in marketing, search, analytics, automation, development, or another practical business application.
  • Working Python and SQL, and a habit of automating repetitive tasks.
  • Strong technical SEO and web fundamentals, including familiarity with how websites are crawled, rendered, indexed, and retrieved.
  • Experience working with APIs and automating workflows.
  • Deep familiarity with structured data, entity optimization, and how retrieval-augmented systems select and cite sources.
  • Experience getting technical changes shipped through an enterprise engineering queue, legal review, and brand review.
  • Comfort making a causal argument about performance to an audience that would prefer the platform-reported number.
  • Clear writing skills, capable of producing content like pillar pages or technical specifications.
  • Experience presenting findings to clients or senior stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to investigate unfamiliar technical problems independently.
  • A demonstrated curiosity about how AI systems work and a willingness to learn quickly as the technology and platforms evolve.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States and currently living in the United States.
  • Not requiring any kind of visa sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Profound, Peec, Scrunch, or similar AI visibility platforms.
  • Experience with Adobe Experience Manager, Sitecore, or Salesforce Commerce Cloud.
  • Agency or consulting background with multiple concurrent clients.
  • Experience with Git/GitHub, software development workflows, testing, or CI/CD.
  • Experience working with LLM APIs, agents, RAG systems, embeddings, structured outputs, or evaluation frameworks.
  • Experience with data pipelines, dashboards, or marketing technology integrations.

Responsibilities

  • Build and run a repeatable AI visibility measurement instrument per client, including prompt sets organized by intent, five-signal scoring (presence, selection, response quality, citations, sentiment), repeated sampling, and a frozen denominator.
  • Use analysis to guide client's broader marketing strategy, influencing positioning, content priorities, or product and experience decisions based on visibility findings.
  • Identify opportunities to automate recurring client and delivery needs, and build or contribute to new agent workflows and service extensions.
  • Automate prompt execution and scoring across various AI platforms (ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude, Google AI Mode) using platform APIs and Playwright, incorporating an LLM-as-judge pipeline calibrated against hand-scored samples.
  • Audit crawler access for training and retrieval bots across robots.txt, WAF and CDN rules, and server logs.
  • Diagnose rendering, redirect, canonical, and JavaScript issues that retrieval crawlers do not tolerate, using tools like Screaming Frog and curl.
  • Design and implement the entity layer, including JSON-LD for Organization, Product, and related types with stable identifiers and consistent product data.
  • Own or contribute to the content strategy for AI visibility, identifying coverage gaps, deciding on content adjustments, and briefing or writing content.
  • Implement technical changes directly in client CMS and tag management systems, or write engineering-ready tickets with acceptance criteria.
  • Lead and influence client marketing, web, and engineering teams to implement necessary changes, navigating legal and brand review processes.
  • Measure impact honestly using control prompt sets, log-side crawler activity, and GA4 AI referral channel groups, and report findings transparently.
  • Build, monitor, and version-control the pipeline in Python, incorporating drift detection and Slack alerting, and present work to clients.
  • Design and run experiments to test hypotheses about improving AI visibility, document results, and continuously improve Tallwave’s methodology.
  • Document repeatable processes, workflows, and technical learnings for cross-client application.

Benefits

  • Comprehensive Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, and 401(k) plans.
  • Employer-paid short-term disability, long-term disability plans and life insurance.
  • Remote work and office hours flexibility.
  • Generous PTO policy.
