About The Position

Wilmington Health is a multi-specialty medical practice committed to the care and health of the community. They provide a comprehensive and coordinated approach to patient care using collaborative, evidence-based medicine. This role administers clinical care and treats patients within the scope of practice as defined by certification or licensure, under the direction of a Physician, Advanced Clinical Provider, Registered Nurse, or supervising department manager.

Requirements

Active AEMT Certification from an accredited association
BLS/CPR Certification

Nice To Haves

One year clinical experience
Splinting/casting placement and removal

Responsibilities

Prepares patient for and assists with examinations
Sets up for provider to administer injections and medications
Dresses wounds and incisions, provides accurate and consistent information to the patient using an established protocol, interprets Physician's instructions to patients, assists with emergency and minor procedures, and performs related tasks as directed
Collects patient data and maintains records of vital statistics and physiological/biological information in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system
Cleans and sterilizes instruments and equipment, and maintains stock of supplies and medications
Acts as receptionist, performs secretarial duties, may communicate with insurance companies, and calling in/faxing prescriptions
Communicates with managed care for prior authorizations
Schedules procedures on campus and off site
Responds to/triages patient phone calls and messages
Educates patients and instructs on any medications, treatment plans, etc.
Splinting/casting placement and removal as required and directed by providers
Application of durable medical equipment
Set up for injections (injections given by provider)
Autoclave use; sterile instrument preparation
