As a Technical Lead – AEM & Edge Delivery Services (EDS), you will be responsible for defining the technical vision, architecture, and delivery excellence of digital experience platforms built on Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) Cloud Service and Edge Delivery Services. You bring strong backend expertise combined with leadership skills, guiding engineering teams in delivering scalable, secure, and performant solutions. You will play a key role in defining solution architecture, applying best practices, and mentoring developers, while remaining actively involved in the most complex implementations. Requirements

  • 8 to 12 years or more of software engineering experience.
  • Over 6 years of experience with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM).
  • Over 4 years of experience with AEM as a Cloud Service and Edge Delivery Services (EDS).
  • Demonstrated experience in a Technical Lead or Senior Lead role.
  • Solid expertise in: Java (11+ / 17), Sling, OSGi, JCR, Oak, AEM Core Components, Content Fragments and GraphQL APIs, Universal Editor and EDS delivery models.
  • Excellent understanding of: API design (REST / GraphQL), Integration patterns and event-driven architectures, Messaging systems (Kafka, Azure Service Bus).
  • CI/CD pipelines and version management (Cloud Manager, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps).
  • Experience with cloud observability tools (Datadog, New Relic, Kibana).
  • Strong experience in Dispatcher/CDN configuration and optimization.
  • Authentication and authorization (OAuth2, OIDC, SAML, Adobe IMS).
  • Secrets management (Vault, KMS).
  • In-depth knowledge of: Performance optimization, Caching strategies, Query and index optimization.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Adobe I/O Runtime (serverless).
  • Knowledge of Adobe Target, Launch, and Analytics integrations.
  • Experience with API gateways (Apigee, Kong, Azure APIM).
  • Exposure to GraphQL federation and schema stitching.
  • Experience in delivering headless and composable architectures across multiple channels (web, mobile, IoT).
  • Experience in Agile methodologies and consulting.

Responsibilities

  • Define and drive solution architecture for AEM Cloud Service and EDS implementations.
  • Establish technical standards, best practices, and development guidelines.
  • Define and enforce non-functional requirements (performance, scalability, security, resilience).
  • Lead design decisions concerning backend architecture, APIs, and integrations.
  • Collaborate with architects to align technical solutions with business objectives.
  • Lead the development of AEM backend solutions using: Sling Models, OSGi Services, Custom Workflows, Content Fragment Models and GraphQL APIs.
  • Design and deliver headless and omnichannel architectures using EDS.
  • Implement integrations with CRM, PIM, DAM systems, marketing platforms, and identity management solutions.
  • Oversee API strategy (REST/GraphQL) to ensure scalability and maintainability.
  • Oversee and guide CI/CD pipelines (Cloud Manager, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins).
  • Define and enforce code quality standards, automated testing, and deployment processes.
  • Implement observability frameworks (monitoring, logging, tracing, and alerting).
  • Optimize Dispatcher/CDN caching strategies (Fastly, Akamai, CloudFront).
  • Promote DevOps maturity and cloud-native best practices within teams.
  • Define and enforce security best practices (OWASP, OAuth2/OIDC, secure APIs, secrets management).
  • Lead performance optimization initiatives (caching, indexing, query optimization, resource delivery).
  • Ensure compliance with data protection, Personal Identifiable Information (PII) management, and governance standards.
  • Conduct technical risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Provide hands-on technical leadership and mentorship to backend engineers.
  • Drive technical backlog refinement and support estimation and planning activities.
  • Act as the primary technical point of contact for stakeholders.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Owners, QA teams, Frontend teams, and Architects.
  • Ensure delivery excellence by adhering to quality standards and timelines.
