About The Position

Parsons is looking for an AEGIS Based Defense Software Engineer to join their team. This role involves working with a team of professional engineers, active-duty Naval Officers, and contract staff to deliver missile defense capability to the Fleet. The position is part of a team of highly skilled engineers and scientists focused on advancing the nation's defense capabilities.

Requirements

  • US Citizenship with Active Secret Clearance
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or an equivalent technical/scientific discipline degree related to area of specialty
  • 5+ years of related professional experience
  • Mastery of MS Office suite
  • Familiarity with collaborative tools such as Jira, Confluence or Teams
  • Missile System Experience

  • Active TS/SCI Clearance
  • Prior experience with Weapons Systems Deployment
  • Experience with Missile Systems Engineering
  • Technical experience in one of the following areas: Fleet operations, systems engineering, missile systems, Aegis Qualifications, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Address emerging Next Generation Missile Defense threats and capabilities, including significant upgrades for SM-6 software, advanced targeting algorithms, enhanced flight profile optimizations, and upgraded datalink processing.
  • Support the SM-6 Round Lead in the design, development, testing, and integration of software for the missile and its incorporation into the Aegis Under Layer, ensuring compatibility with ship-based Aegis Weapon System and land-based Aegis Guam System.
  • Provide oversight of the design, development, and implementation of software solutions for missile guidance, navigation, and control systems, including upgrades to missile guidance laws, feedback control logic, six-degree-of-freedom (6DOF) flight simulations, and real-time sensor data processing.
  • Contribute to software architecture design, requirements analysis, detailed design, and code reviews.
  • Support Aegis Under Layer, Aegis Weapon System, and Aegis Guam System integration and testing activities.
  • Participate in flight tests and data analysis.
  • Manage technical meetings and design reviews for software activities, including MDA Engineering Technical Reviews.
  • Oversee the progress of development sprints and manage backlogs.
  • Define long-term technical strategies and architectural roadmaps.
  • Support analysis of Real World Events and observations that lead to required software changes/updates.
