About The Position

This is an hourly, part-time position providing mentorship and advocacy for youth and families throughout Westbrook. The ideal candidate will be dependable, committed, and able to serve as a positive role model for youth in community, school, and home settings. The Primary responsibilities of the Advocate are to initiate, organize, plan, develop and implement direct advocacy services to assigned participants and their families. All service plans will be based on a strength-based approach using the wrap around model. This position offers flexible hours, competitive weekly pay, mileage ($0.50/mile), and activity reimbursement.

Requirements

  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Prior experience in community work and knowledge of community resources.
  • Experience working with at-risk youth
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient Computer Skills including Microsoft Office; knowledge of electronic health records (EHR) is a plus.
  • Reliable transportation with current auto coverage and valid driver's license is a requirement.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR/First Aid Certification is a plus
  • Bi-Lingual/Spanish Speaking is a plus
  • Bilingual (Spanish Speaking) is a plus.
