About The Position

In collaboration with the Human Resources leadership team, the Risk Prevention and Harassment Advisor acts as an internal expert in occupational risk prevention, workplace harassment and violence, and administrative investigations. The role contributes directly to regulatory compliance and to fostering a healthy, safe, and respectful work environment through rigorous, impartial, and human-centered practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial relations, human resources, law, occupational psychology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in harassment complaint management, occupational risk prevention, and administrative investigations.
  • Experience in a federally regulated environment and strong knowledge of the Canada Labour Code and applicable provincial legislation.
  • Strong analytical, synthesis, and judgment skills, with recognized methodological rigor in investigations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to intervene professionally in sensitive and emotionally charged situations, with discretion, impartiality, and impeccable ethics.
  • Excellent command of MS Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) and demonstrated ease with collaborative digital tools and AI solutions (e.g., Copilot).
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies.
  • Oral and written fluency in French and English
  • A good knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec. The incumbent will be required to communicate and collaborate frequently in English, both orally and in writing, with colleagues, partners, and other stakeholders in Quebec, across Canada, and internationally.

Responsibilities

  • Apply, coordinate, and monitor harassment and workplace violence complaint management processes in compliance with Part II of the Canada Labour Code, its associated regulations, and applicable provincial legislation.
  • Act, when designated, as the Designated Recipient or central resource person; receive, analyze, and document incident notices, formal complaints, and reports.
  • Inform all parties of their rights, obligations, and the steps involved in the process, and coordinate negotiated resolutions, conciliation, or investigations, as required.
  • Plan, conduct, and document internal administrative investigations related to workplace harassment, violence, and inappropriate conduct, ensuring neutrality, impartiality, confidentiality, and procedural fairness.
  • Analyze evidence and prepare clear, structured investigation reports, including findings, analysis, conclusions, and recommendations, and follow up on corrective or preventive measures.
  • Contribute to the identification, assessment, and prevention of psychosocial and organizational risks, and recommend sustainable prevention measures.
  • Design and deliver training and awareness activities, and act as a trusted advisor to managers, the HR team, and internal committees (health and safety, respectful workplace, etc.).
