About The Position

The Saskatchewan Construction Safety Association (SCSA) is a non-profit organization funded by the construction industry to provide cost-effective, quality safety training, programs and advice through its Business Services. Our team is committed to injury prevention and supporting a safe, healthy and profitable industry in Saskatchewan. The Advisor role is a great fit for someone who is self-motivated, organized, and passionate about promoting safety, and who enjoys building relationships and helping organizations strengthen their safety culture in practical, meaningful ways. Experience in construction will be valuable. This role is best suited for someone with hands-on safety experience or formal OHS training who is professional, tech-comfortable, and confident working in both field and office environments. You bring a positive, solutions-focused approach, handle challenging situations with confidence and respect, and can work independently while contributing to a strong team culture. Requirements

  • Hands-on experience working on construction sites and comfortable navigating active work environments.
  • Belief in the value of health and safety and motivated to support safer work.
  • Confident using computers, tablets, mobile devices, and digital systems for documentation, communication, and learning.
  • Ability to build rapport easily, communicate respectfully, and influence others through collaboration and credibility rather than authority.
  • Understanding that workplace culture is shaped by everyday actions and that everyone plays a role in creating a respectful, inclusive, and safe environment.
  • A suitable combination of education, training, and experience will be considered.
  • Proof of a valid driver’s license.
  • Provision of a criminal record check is required upon offer of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in construction.
  • Formal safety designations are an asset but not required at entry.
  • Formal OHS training.

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with member companies and identified customers to promote safety education and support the adoption of SCSA programs and services.
  • Build effective relationships with member companies by engaging leaders and key contacts to understand their operations, safety culture, and challenges.
  • Deliver safety education and on-site support, including inspections, hazard assessments, toolbox talks, demonstrations, presentations, and legislative education.
  • Promote and support SCSA programs, services, and training, helping members access the right tools and resources for their needs.
  • Prepare for and conduct COR®/SECOR® audits using SCSA’s National Standard audit tools and established methodologies.
  • Support the development of health and safety management systems, including documentation review, manual development, audit preparation, and guidance through registration and certification processes.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, contributing to a respectful, supportive, and professional team environment.
  • Model professionalism, accountability, and respect in all interactions — internally and externally.
