About The Position

As the Advisor, Education, you’ll be integral to our work in helping vulnerable children achieve a brighter future. In this role, you will provide technical assistance to a team of Lead Associates implementing elementary education programs. You will build capacity within the team and ensure programs are being implemented with maximum impact. This includes attending meetings with partner organizations to troubleshoot issues, providing guidance on quality program implementation, overseeing training event planning, reviewing program data, and meeting donor implementation and reporting requirements. In addition to leading a team, you will also carry your own caseload.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, plus at least 5 years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with individuals and teams at all levels, both internally and externally
  • Proven experience collaborating with external partners and partner staff to drive program implementation, setting clear expectations, monitoring performance, and ensuring timely completion of deliverables
  • Demonstrated experience supervising a team and managing performance
  • Demonstrated prioritization skills, balancing competing demands while maintaining attention to detail and delivering high-quality outcomes
  • Proven ability to thrive in a hands-on work environment, demonstrating strong problem-solving capabilities and effective planning skills to drive successful outcomes.
  • Experience collaborating with teachers, administrators, and families to support student success at the elementary level.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting data analysis and presenting insights to stakeholders to inform strategic decisions
  • Willing and able to travel in the state up to 15%
  • Professional proficiency in MS Office suite
  • Professional proficiency in spoken and written English

Responsibilities

  • Represent state team as needed at meetings with school district personnel to troubleshoot education program implementation issues.
  • Observe programs in rural communities and provide technical assistance to monitor partner staff.
  • Oversee the coordination and planning of onsite and virtual program component trainings.
  • Conduct analysis of program data and provide feedback to partner staff and Lead Associates to increase participant impact.
  • Develop action plans to increase impact at underperforming program sites with continued monitoring to meet field requirements.
  • Model efficient and effective program implementation and monitoring for Lead Associates.
  • Conduct follow-up and supervisory visits to organizations that have undergone training to provide technical assistance and facilitate implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of action plans.
  • Develop and maintain a trainee database to monitor trainees and further training needs.
  • Provide mentorship/coaching and technical assistance elementary education partner organizations and other state team partners that would like to improve their early education outcomes.
  • Support partner organizations who receive federal 21st CCLC funds; this includes donor requirements, preparing all required documents, following up on partner requirements, attending all required trainings and submitting quarterly program narrative reports.
  • Develop strong inter-sectoral and multi-sectoral relationships at local community levels to increase collaboration of education program implementation.
  • Develop communication materials (newsletter, etc.) to share with partner trainees on a systematic basis, as well as with the wider education community.
  • Collect data on community needs as related to summer program gaps and school readiness.
  • Oversee a subset of the state portfolio of partner sub-awards; ensuring efficient and allowable use of funds.
  • Provide regular, timely communication to Assistant State Director and other key team members as needed with progress updates, partner/program concerns, and other key areas of operation.
  • Responsible for ensuring state team staff and partners have access to strong knowledge management tools and resources needed for program implementation, data entry, monitoring, sharing practices, and managing daily operations.
  • Train, develop, coach, lead, and supervise staff, clearly communicating organization, division and department priorities, and how their work contributes to our mission and supports Save the Children values
  • Responsible for ensuring programs are implemented effectively and achieve program level objectives
  • Provide training, technical assistance, and management support to a portfolio of program partners.
  • Oversee program implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of assigned partner sites.
  • Work collaboratively with state and national colleagues to continuously improve our programmatic work across the state.
