As an NBCUniversal Academic Year intern, you will work on real projects, be part of a collaborative culture, and receive support for growth over two full semesters. The Advertising & Partnerships division is a multifaceted organization that connects the content portfolio of NBCUniversal to advertisers, brand partners, and consumers. It is broadly broken out into five core business areas: Ad Sales, Advertising Product & Solutions, Strategy, Enterprise Marketing & Communications, and Platform Monetization. Together, these groups support the division's mission to be the industry's most valuable partner for maximizing media effectiveness for clients of all sizes. This internship specifically focuses on Data Science within this division, where the team instills advanced analytics and data science principles into advertising technology, collaborating with multiple product teams to support predictive modeling, measurement & optimization, reporting, and analysis.

Requirements

  • Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the entire duration of the program (September 2026 through April 2027).
  • Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits).
  • Must be presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and must not require work visa sponsorship from NBCUniversal now or in the future to retain authorization to work in the United States.
  • Must be available to work 16-24 hours per week from September 21, 2026 – April 23, 2027.
  • Must be working from a location within a U.S. state during all hours worked.
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Understanding data modeling, joins, and blending.
  • Experience with BI tools (MicroStrategy, Tableau, Power BI, or Looker).
  • Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, lookups) and PowerPoint.
  • Proficiency in Python and PySpark for data analysis and pipeline development.
  • Familiarity with SQL and Snowflake for data manipulation and querying.

Nice To Haves

  • Students with class standing of junior or above preferred.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP) and tools like Databricks.
  • Understanding data privacy concepts and clean room technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Apply quantitative modeling, optimization, AI/ML to real-world advertising challenges.
  • Work with data scientists, analysts, and product managers to design and test algorithms that predict performance and maximize ROI.
