About The Position

As an NBCUniversal Academic Year intern, you will work on real projects, be part of a collaborative culture, and receive support for growth across two full semesters. This Internship Program focuses on impact, offering the chance to contribute to meaningful work while building valuable skills. It is designed for curious, driven students excited about media, entertainment, and technology. The Advertising & Partnerships division connects NBCUniversal's content portfolio to advertisers, brand partners, and consumers, encompassing Ad Sales, Advertising Product & Solutions, Strategy, Enterprise Marketing & Communications, and Platform Monetization. These groups collectively aim to be the industry's most valuable partner for maximizing media effectiveness. The Academic Year Internship Program runs from September 21, 2026, to April 23, 2027, requiring 16-24 hours per week, with schedules accommodating course loads. All opportunities require interns to work onsite in New York, NY.

Requirements

  • Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the entire duration of the program (September 2026 through April 2027).
  • Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits).
  • Must be presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and must not require work visa sponsorship from NBCUniversal now or in the future to retain authorization to work in the United States.
  • Must be available to work 16-24 hours per week from September 21, 2026 – April 23, 2027.
  • Must be willing to work in New York, NY.
  • Complete I-9 form with Social Security number within 3 days of hire.
  • Submit a one-page resume that outlines work experience, accomplishments, and your graduation month and year.
  • Submit a cover letter that highlights your passion for NBCUniversal and your top areas of interest.
  • Upload a transcript (unofficial transcripts are fine) that confirms your status as an actively enrolled student in a degree-granting program.

Nice To Haves

  • Students with class standing of junior or above preferred.
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
  • Comfort with qualitative & quantitative data analysis (for Business Intelligence).
  • A strategic approach to problem solving (for Business Intelligence).
  • Comfort with ambiguity (for Business Intelligence).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Understanding data modeling, joins, and blending.
  • Experience with BI tools (MicroStrategy, Tableau, Power BI, or Looker).
  • Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, lookups) and PowerPoint.
  • Proficiency in Python and PySpark for data analysis and pipeline development.
  • Familiarity with SQL and Snowflake for data manipulation and querying.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP) and tools like Databricks.
  • Understanding data privacy concepts and clean room technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Apply quantitative modeling, optimization, AI/ML to real-world advertising challenges.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and product managers to design and test algorithms for performance prediction and ROI maximization.
  • Leverage data to provide actionable insights that drive business performance and foster data-driven decision-making.
  • Support the development and execution of comprehensive roadmaps using best-in-class technology solutions.
  • Contribute to enabling access to crucial business insights via dashboards, reports, self-service modules, and 'data as a product’.
  • Assist in the collection, standardization, and management of NBCUniversal’s owned and licensed data products and assets.
  • Support the enablement of identity resolution, activation, monetization, and data collaboration through secure, privacy-centric methods and technologies.
  • Contribute to building and providing scaled data assets and collaborative technologies to power performance capabilities.
  • Rotate across multiple program management leads to gain hands-on exposure to the full lifecycle of advertising products (Supply, Audiences, Measurement, Demand, and Operations).
  • Support cross-functional initiatives and learn how advertising products are built, launched, and scaled at a leading media company.
