As an NBCUniversal Academic Year intern, individuals will engage in real projects, contribute to a collaborative culture, and receive support for growth over two full semesters. The Internship Program focuses on impactful work and skill development, providing an environment for learning for those curious about media, entertainment, and technology. The Advertising & Partnerships division connects NBCUniversal's content portfolio to advertisers, brand partners, and consumers. This division comprises five core business areas: Ad Sales, Advertising Product & Solutions, Strategy, Enterprise Marketing & Communications, and Platform Monetization. These groups collectively aim to be the industry's most valuable partner for maximizing media effectiveness for clients. Internship placements may include Data Science, where interns apply quantitative modeling, optimization, AI/ML to advertising challenges and design/test algorithms for performance prediction and ROI maximization. In Business Intelligence, interns leverage data for actionable insights, develop roadmaps, and enable access to business insights via dashboards and reports. The Identity & Data Product team involves interns in the collection, standardization, and management of NBCUniversal’s data assets, supporting identity resolution, activation, monetization, and data collaboration. Program Management interns rotate across leads to gain exposure to the full lifecycle of advertising products, supporting cross-functional initiatives and learning about product development and scaling.

Requirements

  • Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the entire duration of the program (September 2026 through April 2027).
  • December 2026 graduates are not eligible for this Academic Year Internship Program.
  • Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits).
  • Must be presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and must not require work visa sponsorship from NBCUniversal now or in the future to retain authorization to work in the United States.
  • Must be available to work 16-24 hours per week from September 21, 2026 – April 23, 2027.
  • Must be willing to work in New York, NY.
  • Any candidate receiving an internship offer must complete I-9 form with Social Security number within 3 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Students with class standing of junior or above preferred.
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
  • For Business Intelligence- comfort with qualitative & quantitative data analysis, a strategic approach to problem solving, comfort with ambiguity.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Understanding data modeling, joins, and blending.
  • Experience with BI tools (MicroStrategy, Tableau, Power BI, or Looker).
  • Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, lookups) and PowerPoint.
  • Proficiency in Python and PySpark for data analysis and pipeline development.
  • Familiarity with SQL and Snowflake for data manipulation and querying.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP) and tools like Databricks is a plus.
  • Understanding data privacy concepts and clean room technologies is a bonus.

Responsibilities

  • Apply quantitative modeling, optimization, AI/ML to real-world advertising challenges.
  • Work with data scientists, analysts, and product managers to design and test algorithms that predict performance and maximize ROI.
  • Leverage data to empower business customers with actionable insights that drive business performance.
  • Develop and execute on comprehensive roadmaps leveraging best-in-class technology solutions.
  • Enable access to crucial business insights via dashboards, reports, self-service modules, and 'data as a product’.
  • Support the collection, standardization, and management of NBCUniversal’s owned and licensed data products and assets.
  • Contribute to enabling identity resolution, activation, monetization, and data collaboration through secure, privacy-centric methods and technologies.
  • Rotate across multiple program management leads to gain hands-on exposure to the full lifecycle of advertising products, including Supply, Audiences, Measurement, Demand, and Operations.
  • Support cross-functional initiatives.
  • Learn how advertising products are built, launched, and scaled at a leading media company.
