As an NBCUniversal Academic Year intern, you will work on real projects, be part of a collaborative culture, and receive support for growth across two full semesters. The Internship Program focuses on impact, allowing interns to contribute to meaningful work while building valuable skills. It provides an environment for learning and growth for individuals curious, driven, and excited about media, entertainment, and technology. The Advertising & Partnerships division connects NBCUniversal's content portfolio to advertisers, brand partners, and consumers. It comprises five core business areas: Ad Sales, Advertising Product & Solutions, Strategy, Enterprise Marketing & Communications, and Platform Monetization. These groups collectively aim to be the industry's most valuable partner for maximizing media effectiveness for clients. Areas of placement for this internship include Data Science, Business Intelligence, Identity & Data Product, and Program Management.

Requirements

  • Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the entire duration of the program (September 2026 through April 2027)
  • December 2026 graduates are not eligible for this Academic Year Internship Program
  • Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits)
  • Must be presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and must not require work visa sponsorship from NBCUniversal now or in the future to retain authorization to work in the United States
  • Must be available to work 16-24 hours per week from September 21, 2026 – April 23, 2027
  • Must be willing to work in New York, NY
  • Any candidate receiving an internship offer must complete I-9 form with Social Security number within 3 days of hire
  • Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, lookups) and PowerPoint (Data Science track)
  • Proficiency in Python and PySpark for data analysis and pipeline development (Data Science track)
  • Familiarity with SQL and Snowflake for data manipulation and querying (Identity & Data Product track)
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) (Program Management track)

Nice To Haves

  • Students with class standing of junior or above preferred
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above
  • Comfort with qualitative & quantitative data analysis, a strategic approach to problem solving, comfort with ambiguity (Business Intelligence track)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities (Business Intelligence track)
  • Understanding data modeling, joins, and blending (Business Intelligence track)
  • Experience with BI tools (MicroStrategy, Tableau, Power BI, or Looker) (Data Science track)
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP) and tools like Databricks is a plus (Identity & Data Product track)
  • Understanding data privacy concepts and clean room technologies is a bonus (Project Management track)
  • Currently pursuing a degree in business, communications, technology, media, or a related field (or equivalent experience) (Project Management track)
  • Interest in program management, product development, advertising technology, and/or media businesses (Project Management track)
  • Strong communication skills and comfort working with a variety of teams and stakeholders (Project Management track)
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks at once (Project Management track)
  • Willingness to learn project tracking and workflow tools such as Jira or Smartsheet (Project Management track)

Responsibilities

  • Apply quantitative modeling, optimization, AI/ML to real-world advertising challenges (Data Science track)
  • Design and test algorithms that predict performance and maximize ROI (Data Science track)
  • Support cross-functional initiatives (Program Management track)
