About The Position

The ADFOR Military Analyst reports to the MSTP Project Manager and receives work direction derivatives from the ADFOR Lead. This role involves developing exercise-specific Adversary Forces (ADFOR) by researching adversary doctrine, TTPs, battle orders, and weapon systems to generate ADFOR data for various planning products. The analyst will provide comprehensive, current intelligence on near-peer adversaries, verify the accuracy of ADFOR simulation databases, and operate simulation workstations employing ADFOR TTPs. A key aspect of the role is to replicate a "thinking enemy" by role-playing ADFOR actions, reacting to friendly operations, adapting tactics, and exploiting vulnerabilities. This includes managing an ADFOR operations cell for planning, conducting current operations, and delivering combat assessments. The analyst will contribute to scenario development and exercise design, ensuring ADFOR inputs are integrated into the overall planning effort and participating in all Joint Event Life Cycle / Exercise Life Cycle events. Adaptability is crucial, as actions and plans must be dynamically adjusted to the evolving scenario to maintain realism and alignment with training objectives. The position also requires acting as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on near-peer adversary military capabilities and employment doctrine, adjusting work hours to support 24/7 event operations, and performing Military Analyst duties and serving as event OTC when required.
