About The Position

Reasons to Believe (RTB) is an international, outreach-focused science apologetics ministry. Our mission is to share the Christian gospel by demonstrating that sound reason and scientific discovery—including the most current research—consistently affirms, rather than undermines, confidence in the truth of Scripture and faith in the personal, transcendent God revealed in both the Bible and nature. We are seeking a full-time Advancement Director to provide operational leadership for annual giving programs, major and mid-level donor engagement, recurring giving initiatives, fundraising campaigns, and cross-department collaboration. This role ensures donor engagement systems, team activities, and fundraising operations are organized, consistent, and effective in supporting sustainable revenue growth. The Advancement Director will execute advancement strategy in partnership with the Senior Advancement Director and Chief Development Officer, while overseeing team performance, accountability, and daily workflow to ensure fundraising plans are implemented on time and deliver measurable results.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of demonstrated experience in nonprofit advancement or development
  • Proven leadership in donor relationship strategy
  • Strong strategic thinking with the ability to implement, evaluate, and adapt plans
  • Experience managing metrics, KPIs, and forecasting
  • Exceptional communication and storytelling abilities

Responsibilities

  • Execute the annual fundraising plan developed with the Senior Advancement Director and Chief Development Officer, ensuring campaigns, donor communications, and team activities remain on schedule and aligned with goals.
  • Drive revenue growth by monitoring performance across major gifts, mid-level giving, recurring donors, high-urgency campaigns, and special initiatives; identify gaps and recalibrate activities to stay on target.
  • Oversee donor experience execution—including events, reports, acknowledgments, and impact communication—in partnership with Marketing & Communications.
  • Lead weekly advancement team L10 meetings, ensuring team members have clear priorities, timelines, and performance expectations.
  • Manage advancement operations, reporting, forecasting, gift processing coordination, and compliance standards.
  • Monitor fundraising pipeline activity (asks, proposals, follow-ups, renewals) to ensure timely movement and prevent stagnation.
  • Provide leadership with regular reports on revenue progress, pipeline health, team performance, and operational needs.
