About The Position

Pape’ Kenworth is seeking an Advanced Truck Technician / Mechanic for their Klamath Falls, OR location. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining medium and heavy Class 7 & 8 trucks. The ideal candidate will have a deep mechanical understanding, sound judgment, and the ability to lead by example while upholding high standards of safety and quality. Responsibilities include analyzing complex mechanical and electronic malfunctions, executing repairs on major systems, and mentoring other technicians. The position supports customers by maximizing truck uptime and ensuring quick, safe, and correct repairs. The work environment is a supportive shop with necessary resources for heavy truck repair. The work schedule is Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.

Requirements

5 or more years of experience working on all makes and models of medium and heavy-duty class 7/8 trucks.
Experience with engine repair, electronic trouble-shooting, HVAC systems, and chassis repair.
Basic computer knowledge.
Self-motivation and assertiveness.
Ability to work under little or no supervision.
Excellent communication and customer relations skills.
Must provide own tools.

Nice To Haves

Kenworth Essentials certifications preferred.
Cummins and MX software experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining medium and heavy Class 7 & 8 trucks.
Analyzing complex mechanical and electronic malfunctions.
Determining the best repair strategy and executing repairs or rebuilds on major systems including engines, transmissions, axles, steering, brakes, clutches, electrical systems, and air systems.
Serving as a mentor and technical resource for other technicians.
Maximizing truck uptime for customers.
Ensuring repairs are completed with precision, efficiency, and lasting quality.
Upholding the highest standards of safety, quality, and professionalism.
