Experienced Truck Technician / Mechanic - Day Shift
About The Position
Pape’ Kenworth, a premier medium and heavy-duty truck and equipment dealer in the West, is seeking an Experienced Truck Technician to join their team. This role involves maintaining and repairing medium and heavy-duty Class 7 & 8 trucks, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and high standards. The technician will diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues, repair or rebuild major components, and work alongside other trained technicians in a fully equipped shop. The position offers opportunities for skill development and continuous support. The work schedule is Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.
Requirements
- 2 or more years of experience working on all makes and models of medium and heavy-duty class 7/8 trucks, including engine repair, electronic troubleshooting, HVAC systems, and chassis repair.
- Basic computer knowledge.
- Self-motivation and assertiveness.
- Ability to work under little or no supervision.
- Excellent communication and customer relations skills.
- Must provide own tools.
Nice To Haves
- Diesel tech degree and a mechanical aptitude/background.
- Kenworth Essentials certifications.
- Cummins and MX software experience.
Responsibilities
- Maintaining and repairing medium and heavy-duty Class 7 & 8 trucks.
- Diagnosing and troubleshooting complex mechanical and electrical issues.
- Repairing or rebuilding major components such as cabs, steering systems, engines, transmissions, axles, differentials, brakes, clutches, electrical systems, and air systems.
- Keeping trucks running smoothly and maximizing uptime for customers.
