About The Position

As a tool engineer for General Dynamics Mission Systems, you will be a critical member of a cross-functional team responsible for designing and maintaining equipment used to manufacture products that support the nation. The position is fully onsite at the Marion, Virginia facility. A 9/80 schedule is available, with every other Friday off if desired.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related science, engineering, or mathematics field and at least 5 years of relevant experience, or a master’s degree and at least 3 years of relevant experience.
Ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance within a reasonable amount of time after hire; candidates must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
U.S. citizenship is required.
Strong proficiency with CAD modeling tools for creating mechanical models and drawings.
Extensive knowledge of manufacturing and fabrication methods, as well as technical, government, and industry standards.
Strong communication skills, including the ability to write technical papers and proposals.

Nice To Haves

Secret security clearance at the time of hire is preferred.
Experience in tool engineering, project management, CAD creation, and GD&T.
