About The Position

The Advanced Technology Facilities Manager, Associate Director manages facilities across all locations within the Advanced Technology (AT) Strategic Business Unit (SBU) footprint. This role will interface with Sub-Strategic Business Unit (SSBU) capital leads and program managers/directors to understand near term facility needs and to forecast future facility growth as current programs evolve and new programs are started. This role is responsible for end-to-end management of all unclassified and classified facilities and will interface with Digital, Cyber, Security, Facilities, and Engineering functional leads to understand and capture facilities requirements. The AT Facilities Manager will work with counterparts in the other SBUs to identify and obtain spaces that meet the business’ needs. The successful candidate will maintain a two-way dialogue with the SSBU capital lead and the organization executing the construction to ensure that any requirement updates from the program are captured and accounted for, construction issues are communicated and resolved, and that the finished space supports program needs. Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced degree in a related field and minimum 10 years experience.
  • Experience working in infrastructure, facilities, or program management within an aerospace & defense or government contracting environments.
  • Experience managing classified facilities and/or similar environments (SCIFs, SAPs).
  • Capital and project management experience, or related experience managing operating expense processes, budgeting, forecasting, and financial controls.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret U.S. government issued security clearance and program access after start.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels (program, functional, and executive).
  • Experience with DoD/government contract vehicles (e.g., IDIQ, cost-plus, firm-fixed-price) and familiarity with FAR/DFARS requirements.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Facilities Manager (CFM), or equivalent certification.
  • Proven ability to manage complex facility/space portfolios across multiple geographic locations.
  • Background in mission-critical or high-security aerospace/defense programs or prior military, government, or cleared-contractor experience.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance, Top-Secret preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Unclassified & Classified Facilities: Oversee all AT facilities, including secure spaces (e.g., SCIFs, SAPFs, DoD Collateral), labs, and seating areas.
  • Forecast Growth & Capacity Planning: Work with SSBU capital leads to forecast facilities needs and develop long-range plans to support existing program evolution and new program captures.
  • Stakeholder Interface & Translation: Work with SSBU capital leads, program and functional organizations (Digital, Cyber, Security, and Engineering) to capture requirements for each project.
  • Capital & Expense Project Management: Work with the capital manager to ensure that risks to budget are understood and that opportunities to reduce cost are captured.
  • Portfolio Management of Physical Spaces: Manage a multi-state, multi-city portfolio of leased and owned facilities working with the capital manager to optimize utilization, coordinate expansions/relocations, and maintain accurate space inventories and utilization reports.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaboration across functional teams to resolve issues, mitigate risks, and deliver integrated solutions that enable mission objectives.
  • Inter-SBU Collaboration and Space Optimization: Interface with peer Infrastructure Managers from other SBUs to maintain accountability on space utilization, negotiate trades of existing spaces as priorities shift and optimize shared resources when new construction cannot keep pace with rapid program growth demands.
  • Travel & Site Support: Travel domestically up to 50% to support multi-state program sites, conduct site assessments, facilitate stakeholder meetings, and ensure consistent execution across the portfolio.
