Reporting directly to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Advance Technologies Technician (“ATT”) is a qualified and competent A-level mechanic with the additional skills, knowledge, certifications, experience and competencies to capably perform service, diagnostics, preventative and functional maintenance and repair on SunLine Transit Agency’s (“Agency”) fleet of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), Hydrogen-powered, and Electric Buses (“Alternative Fuel Vehicles” or AFV), as well as other Agency revenue and non-revenue fleet vehicles. The incumbent in this role must demonstrate the ability to work with little to no supervision, and have knowledge of principles, practices and methods of repair of advanced technology bus systems and equipment. The ATT shall apply his/her knowledge, skills and experience with alternative fuel technologies, to include, but not limited to, hydrogen fuel cells, as well as high-voltage and low-voltage systems (“Alternative Fuel Technology, “AFT”) and AFVs, commonly found in modern transit buses, and perform testing, diagnostics, and preventative maintenance in accordance with manufacturer specifications to ensure the operability, serviceability and readiness of the Agency’s fleet of ATV. The ATT may also provide advice, guidance and direction pertaining to appropriate diagnostics, servicing and repair of fleet vehicles equipped with AFT, as well as onboard electronic systems to include, but not limited to, CAD/AVL systems, radios, head signs, video systems, etc.
