About The Position

Hitachi Global Air Power (HACs) is seeking an expert Advanced Technician to provide exceptional service and support to customers relying on their compressed air systems. This role involves maximizing customer productivity, improving reliability, and ensuring efficient operations through expert service, technical knowledge, parts support, and customized solutions. The company emphasizes strong customer relationships, acting as trusted partners to businesses across various industries. The Advanced Technician will be an expert on Sullair rotary/oil-free products and accessories, as well as competitive rotary/oil-free products, vacuum, and scroll technologies. A key responsibility is training other technicians on Sullair rotary products. The position requires providing maintenance and technical support at customer field locations, installing new products, enhancing existing ones, and training customer personnel. Troubleshooting and repairing malfunctions, preparing detailed service reports, logging maintenance activities, and collaborating with internal departments to resolve field concerns are also crucial aspects of this role. The technician will support the Sullair Training Department for customers, distributors, and employees and reports directly to the Field Service Manager.

Requirements

  • Must be fluent in English
  • Must possess a valid driver's license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations including, but not limited to: DUI in the previous 5 years, Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless/Careless Driving or multiple smaller infractions or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years
  • Must be able to lift to 50 lbs. on a regular basis and work in industrial environments including extremes in temperature with continuous walking, reaching, bending, and kneeling
  • Employees will use company provided equipment and will be required to travel to attend company provided training
  • Employees are required to have their own tools to perform their job duties
  • Operate a company vehicle safely and in compliance with all traffic laws and HGAP policies
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (Related industry experience may be considered in lieu of education requirements)
  • 4-6 years of air compressor commissioning and maintenance experience
  • Experience with multiple brands of rotary screw and oil free compressors and accessories
  • Demonstrated success in technical aptitudes of compressed air systems
  • Experience with industrial product manufacturing and processes
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be able to engage and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Strong grasp of Microsoft office required
  • Ability to read and understand schematics
  • Ability to work independently or on a team

  • Sullair - “Certified Technician” training (Online Oil Flooded Basics, Stationary Controllers Introduction, Oil Sampling Introduction, Electrical basics, In Person Oil Flooded stationary, Electrical fundamentals)
  • Sullair – “Certified Senior Technician” training (Online Piping / instrumentation diagrams, Introduction to VSD, Communication and sequencing, Intro to Oil Free DS/DSP SRL, In Person Microprocessor and controls, Variable speed drives, Oil Free stationary, Refrigeration / EPA certified, Compressed air challenge – Level 1)

Responsibilities

  • Performs any needed service on all compressed air products, regardless of brand, except for centrifugal technology
  • Train other technicians on all rotary products and accessories
  • Travel to field jobsites for troubleshooting, and service of Sullair and competitive rotary products
  • Follow standard work for pre and post service preparation (submit expense reports, prepare service reports, make travel arrangements, complete timecards)
  • On call as scheduled for after-hours customer support
  • Follow all Environmental Health and Safety policies and procedures
  • Communicate distributor feedback to Sullair management as Voice of Customer
  • Drive field concerns to closure in a timely manner
  • Support goal of service within the Service Department of 95%
  • Contribute to positive Company branding by projecting a knowledgeable, professional, and customer-oriented image to customers
  • Perform all duties in accordance with company standards, while always striving to understand the needs and expectations of the customer
