About The Position
The State of Arizona is seeking an Advanced Systems Engineer to support the Criminal Investigations Division (CID) Digital Forensic Lab (DFL). This role involves managing enterprise network infrastructure, storage systems, and domain environments while ensuring system integrity, security, and performance.
Requirements
- Expert-level experience with Cisco (Catalyst), HP Aruba, and Mellanox/Nvidia networking solutions
- Experience with Lenovo Unified Storage (NetApp FAS) systems
- Strong knowledge of network architecture, system design, and infrastructure management
- Experience managing Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Windows server environments
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience on similar projects
- Experience working in large enterprise environments
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems or related field
- Minimum 2 years of systems administration experience in large environments (1000+ users)
Nice To Haves
- Experience with NAS systems, archival backups, and storage management
- Familiarity with TrueNAS
- Experience with system testing tools and performance monitoring
- Experience managing security, antivirus updates, and compliance
- Experience with forensic environments or working with digital forensic teams
- Experience with hardware setup for forensic workstations
- Ability to support legal proceedings related to system/data integrity
Responsibilities
- Serve as systems administrator, network engineer, and technical advisor for the Digital Forensic Lab
- Manage and maintain enterprise network hardware and configurations (Cisco, Aruba, Mellanox/Nvidia)
- Administer Lenovo Unified Storage (NetApp FAS) and NAS environments
- Maintain Active Directory, Domain Controllers, DNS, DHCP, and Windows servers
- Provide support for servers, network infrastructure, NAS systems, and client workstations
- Perform system monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance optimization
- Maintain backups, archival storage, and data recovery processes
- Install, configure, and maintain hardware/software per DPS and DFL standards
- Develop technical documentation, reports, and system architecture designs
- Collaborate with forensic teams to resolve hardware/software issues and support investigations
