About The Position

Xcel Energy is seeking one or more Advanced Step Apprentice (5th Step or above)/Journeyman Linemen to join their team at the Minot Service Center in Minot, North Dakota. This role involves performing all duties of the Lineman Classification, including work on overhead and underground electric distribution and transmission systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to safety, provide quality customer service, be self-motivated, and possess a positive attitude.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must possess a degree/diploma from an accepted Line School or a state issued Journeyman certificate for an Advanced step position.
• Must possess a state issued Journeyman certificate and pass a company skills assessment for a Journeyman position.
• Must meet driver qualification requirements, including the possession of a valid Commercial Class A Driver’s License.
• Must be physically capable of performing all aspects of electric overhead and underground distribution, construction, operations, and maintenance work.
• Must have good communication and teamwork skills.
• Must presently be qualified to be a 5th Step Apprentice Lineman or higher.
• Must be self-motivated and possess a positive attitude.
• Demonstrated commitment to work safely and productively.
• Must live within 20-miles of the service center.
• This position is subject to D.O.T. random drug and alcohol testing program.

Responsibilities

• Perform all duties of the Lineman Classification.
• Work on overhead and underground electric distribution and transmission systems.
• Provide quality customer service.
• Participate in after-hours emergency call-outs.
