Advanced Specialist, Product Management

Pearson•Englewood, CO
•$80,000 - $148,000

About The Position

Pearson’s Enterprise Learning & Skills division has formed a small team to create new products for enterprise clients. The team draws on Pearson’s learning content, assessment data, and credentialing expertise, using AI to address customer problems that could not previously be solved. Its products integrate into client ecosystems, often build on Pearson products, and are researched and validated with customers before scaling. The Senior Product Manager for zero-to-one owns the earliest stages of product bets, from identifying enterprise problems and shaping concepts through designing experiments, validating value, and making the case for scaling. The role runs multiple workstreams concurrently and ensures the team focuses on the most important next learning. It is a senior individual-contributor position without direct reports, relying on evidence, clear narratives, and trust to influence peers and partners.

Requirements

  • Senior product management experience with a demonstrated zero-to-one track record taking products or major bets from concept through validation to launch, including examples of bets that were stopped.
  • Enterprise and B2B product experience, including understanding multi-stakeholder adoption where buyers and users differ, and navigating procurement, security review, and change management.
  • Strong experimentation skills, including hypothesis design, qualitative and quantitative validation, and evidence-based decision-making.
  • Excellent communication skills, including crisp writing, compelling narratives, executive presentations, and collaboration with engineers.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams through ambiguity without losing track of them.
  • Sufficient technical depth to discuss APIs, integrations, and system constraints and reason about them without necessarily writing code.
  • Ability to build trust across teams, disciplines, organizational levels, and with clients.
  • Commitment to ethics, privacy, security, and accessibility.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of the enterprise learning ecosystem, including LMS/LXP/HRIS platforms, skills frameworks, credentialing, and L&D purchasing.
  • Familiarity with learning and integration standards such as LTI, SCORM, xAPI, SSO, and SCIM.
  • Formal research training or deep experience partnering closely with researchers.
  • Experience with committees, consortia, or industry working groups.

Responsibilities

  • Discover customer and market needs by engaging enterprise buyers, administrators, learners, and IT stakeholders; translate findings into worthwhile problems to solve.
  • Frame product bets as testable hypotheses and define the smallest experience that addresses the riskiest question first.
  • Design and conduct validation with design and product engineers, including interviews, concept tests, prototypes, and client pilots.
  • Make evidence-based decisions to kill, pivot, or persevere with a bet, and clearly communicate the rationale.
  • Identify relevant Pearson products for concepts to build on and establish internal partnerships to support development.
  • Treat integration into client ecosystems as a product requirement from the outset and own product fit alongside engineers.
  • Build business cases and communicate product narratives to clients, ELS leadership, and partner teams.
  • Take on the work needed to advance learning, such as writing interview guides, building models, drafting one-pagers, or prototyping with AI tools.
  • Manage multiple concurrent workstreams while keeping track of progress and learning.
