General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS) is seeking an experienced Advanced Space Systems Engineer to join our team in Chantilly, VA. This role involves analyzing, designing, developing, and testing GDMS systems to ensure the seamless integration of software, hardware, reliability, maintainability, safety, and other critical requirements. The position focuses on systems engineering activities including requirements analysis, definition, management, functional analysis, performance analysis, system design, trade studies, systems integration and test (verification), validation, and interface definition. Tasks may extend to formulating operational concepts, performing mission, functional, cost-benefit, and risk analysis, and developing signal processing and overall system architecture. Our systems often incorporate digital signal processing algorithms implemented in both hardware and software for space-based applications. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in digital signal processing algorithm development for statistical analysis of signal parameter measurements, utilizing techniques from Detection & Estimation Theory, Random Processes Analysis, and Communications and Information Theory. Experience with MATLAB for DSP, Radar Processing, DSP for mitigating/processing RF effects, Monte Carlo analysis, or Phased Array/Beam Forming is highly desirable.
