About The Position

GDMS Advanced Systems Engineers analyze, design, develop and test GDMS systems to ensure the integration of software, hardware, reliability, maintainability, safety and other requirements in the total engineering effort. Responsibilities include requirements analysis, requirements definition, requirements management, functional analysis, performance analysis, system design, trade studies, systems integration and test (verification), validation and interface definition studies of system elements. Tasks may include formulating operational concepts; performing mission, functional, cost-benefit and risk analysis; developing signal processing architecture and overall system architecture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field, plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree, plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Department of Defense TS/SCI security clearance is preferred at time of hire. Candidates must be able to obtain a TS/SCI clearance within a reasonable amount of time from date of hire.
  • Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Success leading the systems development life cycle with strong proficiency with requirements management and system modeling tools

Nice To Haves

  • Python development for engineering analysis, automation, test, or data processing
  • Familiarity with space radiation effects
  • Experience in Space Payloads Design, Development or I&T, including Environmental Testing (TVAC, vibe, EMI/EMC), Hardware and software troubleshooting, and RF and electronic test equipment
  • Familiarity with test discrepancy processes, including discrepancy reporting, data collection, failure isolation, root cause analysis, corrective and preventive action development, and verification of implemented solutions.
  • Experience documenting and communicating anomaly status, technical findings, risk assessments, and recommended disposition through formal review boards and cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Identifies opportunities to apply AI for continuous improvement and innovation
