About The Position

As a software engineer for CMSS, you’ll be a member of a cross functional team responsible for analysis and resolution of security findings, design and implement complex system improvements, and deliver reliable software that supports operational missions. Work includes architecture and detailed design, technical documentations, implementation, automated testing, and collaboration across engineering disciplines. What sets you apart: Essential Functions: Lead the design, documentation, implementation, code review, and automated testing of complex software features and sustainment releases. Own technically challenging sustainment activities, including security remediation, root-cause analysis, system improvements, and resolution of customer-impacting software issues. Provide technical guidance to team members; contribute to development standards, peer reviews, planning, estimation, and continuous improvement of engineering practices. Partner with systems, test, cybersecurity, and customer stakeholders to define solutions, verify system behavior, and support deployment and operational readiness. Occasional travel may be required. Active TS/SCI clearance is required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, or related Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics field, plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree, plus 3 years relevant experience.
  • Department of Defense TS/SCI clearance required at time of hire.
  • The selected candidate must be able to obtain a Polygraph within a reasonable amount of time from date of hire.
  • Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
  • Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Active Top Secret / SCI security clearance required.
  • Demonstrated expertise developing production software in Python, Java, C, C++, or comparable object-oriented languages.
  • Strong experience developing and troubleshooting software in Unix/Linux environments, including shell scripting and system-level debugging.
  • Demonstrated experience with software architecture and design, automated unit and integration testing, and delivery of maintainable, well-documented code.
  • Proven technical leadership in design reviews, code reviews, complex debugging, and mentoring or guiding less-experienced engineers.
  • Ability to work on-site and communicate complex technical information clearly to engineering and program stakeholders.
