About The Position

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Security Services Specialist to join their Infrastructure Operations team. This role is responsible for driving operational security excellence within Data Centers, managing communications, and providing services as required. The specialist will make suggestions for improving electronic surveillance and access controls, write and implement security processes and procedures, and extract metrics to observe improvements. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of customer service, excellent communication skills, good judgment, and critical thinking. This role requires the ability to work at all levels, from theoretical knowledge of physical security principles to practical application and real-world implementation of processes and measures, with a proven record in operations room/center dispatching, data center security operations, physical security, and customer service, along with the ability to multi-task.

Requirements

• Experience with physical security best practices which includes the application of physical security systems, investigation techniques and management of contract security guards.
• 1+ years' experience in an operations center, control room environment, or technical support experience.
• 2+ years' experience with intrusion detection (alarm systems) and with video monitoring systems (CCTV).

Nice To Haves

• Experience with workflow ticketing and extraction/development of performance metrics.
• 2+ years of overseeing security operations and working with security vendors/contractors experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage a chat queue, phone communications, generate and/or manage trouble tickets, handle incoming chats, and provide support to customers.
• Drive security awareness campaigns aimed at enhancing security vigilance and effectiveness.
• Configure physical security devices including cameras, readers, and panels.
• Support daily operational security across a data center campus.
• Distill overarching security strategy into daily tactics to reach management goals.
