About The Position

The position is responsible for securing and managing the agency's Microsoft 365 environment, implementing enterprise endpoint security solutions, enforcing data protection policies, and ensuring compliance with state and FBI Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) security standards. The selected consultant will work closely with infrastructure, security, and desktop support teams to implement Microsoft security technologies, strengthen endpoint protection, improve governance, and provide technical leadership while transferring knowledge to agency personnel.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
  • Minimum 5 years of enterprise IT and Information Security experience.
  • Strong hands-on experience administering Microsoft 365, Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Purview, BitLocker, and Microsoft Endpoint Management.
  • Experience managing enterprise endpoint security across multiple operating systems.
  • Experience administering Microsoft desktop environments and Office 365 security services.
  • Knowledge of enterprise security architecture and systems integration.
  • Strong understanding of endpoint compliance and device management.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, documentation, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Configure, administer, and maintain Microsoft 365 security technologies.
  • Implement and manage endpoint security using Microsoft Intune across Windows, macOS, iOS, iPadOS, and Android.
  • Package, deploy, and maintain Win32 applications, Line-of-Business (LOB) applications, and Microsoft Store applications.
  • Configure and manage Windows Update for Business, deployment rings, feature updates, and update policies.
  • Design and implement Microsoft Purview Information Protection solutions, including Sensitivity Labels, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), and Information Protection policies.
  • Configure and maintain Trainable Classifiers, Exact Data Match (EDM), and Sensitive Information Types.
  • Evaluate Microsoft 365 licensing (E3, E5, Business Premium) and recommend secure licensing strategies.
  • Develop and maintain Security baselines, Device compliance policies, Endpoint security standards, and Configuration policies.
  • Manage BitLocker encryption policies and endpoint protection.
  • Perform software inventory analysis and vulnerability assessments.
  • Coordinate remediation of identified security risks.
  • Research and evaluate emerging Microsoft security technologies and recommend implementation strategies.
  • Create technical documentation, implementation guides, operational procedures, and security standards.
  • Provide technical mentoring and knowledge transfer to agency personnel.
  • Support scheduled implementations, upgrades, maintenance windows, and occasional after-hours activities.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, networking, security, and business teams to maintain secure enterprise operations.
