Assembles rigging to lift and move equipment or material to construction projects. This role requires an Advanced Rigger Certification. The position involves loading, transporting, unloading, and assisting in the selection of cables, ropes, pulleys, winches, blocks, and sheaves, according to the weight and size of the load to be moved. The rigger attaches pulley and blocks to fixed overhead structures, attaches loads with grappling devices to crane hooks, and gives direction to crane operators or hoisting engineers to ensure safety. The role also includes setting up braces and rigging hoisting equipment, tying various knots, assembling and disassembling cranes, and splicing rope and wire cables. Minor maintenance and cleaning of tools and equipment are also part of the responsibilities, along with observing all safety rules and performing other duties as required. This position typically reports to a supervisor or manager and works under immediate supervision, with primary job functions not typically requiring independent judgment.
