The Design for Excellence (DFX) Lead role will report directly to the Advanced Products & Solutions (APS) Chief Engineer. They will be responsible for leading the integration & execution of New Product Introduction (NPI) requirements and capabilities across the APS portfolio, responsible for establishing NPI requirements in the program technical baseline and execution across technology development, pursuit-to-startup, product development, production, and sustainment phases of the engineering lifecycle. This is an onsite role and can be in either McKinney, TX or El Segundo, CA. Recognized as a motivated & proven leader with experience and technical acumen in optimizing aerospace & defense systems for manufacturing. Implementing a suite of design for excellence capabilities, including design to unit production cost (DTUPC), design for manufacturing and assembly (DFMA), design for manufacturing test (DFMT), and design for safety (DFS). Applying the necessary systems and requirements is essential to transition and manufacture products from our supply base through internal factories. Champion organizational/cultural change in a complex matrixed environment. Lead cross-functional partnership across Engineering (Chief Engineer, Lead Systems Engineer, and Test Architect), Operations, Supply Chain, and Quality on New Product Introductions. Support the assessment and updates to Raytheon policies and processes to strategically shift all product development to this new direction for the business.
