Advanced Process Engineering Manager
About The Position
This role is responsible for driving process engineering and improvement initiatives, including championing lean manufacturing and continuous improvement programs. The manager will lead cross-functional teams during new product launches, evaluate and recommend advanced tooling and automation, and conduct time studies and workflow analyses. Additionally, the role involves providing technical support for cost estimates, collaborating on customer quotes, and maintaining quoting standards. Strategic responsibilities include executive-level reporting on improvement opportunities, developing operational strategies, documenting best practices, and understanding the business's technical, quotation, process, and management aspects.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
- 8+ years of experience in industrial engineering, cost estimating, or process optimization within manufacturing.
- Proven track record of leading projects, mentoring team members, and driving measurable process improvements.
- Advanced knowledge of time studies, cost modeling, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement tools.
- Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems, cost estimating software, and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Responsibilities
- Champion lean manufacturing initiatives and continuous improvement programs across departments.
- Direct cross-functional teams during new product launches, ensuring smooth transition from quoting to production.
- Evaluate and recommend advanced tooling, equipment, and automation strategies to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Lead time studies, workflow analyses, and labor utilization projects to drive process efficiency.
- Provide Technical support on cost estimates for new and existing products, incorporating labor standards, materials, tooling, and overhead.
- Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, and Operations to prepare accurate, competitive customer quotes.
- Maintain and refine quoting standards, databases, and process assumptions.
- Develop an understanding of the financial aspects as it relates to the P&L.
- Compare quoted assumptions to actual production results, and adjust standards as needed.
- Lead and Provide executive-level reporting on improvement opportunities.
- Develop short-term and long-term strategies for operations.
- Document best practices and create standardized processes for quoting and industrial engineering activities.
- Develop a sound understanding of the technical, quotation, process, and management process of the business.
