Advanced Process Engineering Manager
About The Position
The Advanced Process Engineering Manager will champion lean manufacturing initiatives and continuous improvement programs across departments. This role involves directing cross-functional teams during new product launches, evaluating and recommending advanced tooling, equipment, and automation strategies, and leading time studies and workflow analyses. Additionally, the manager will provide technical support for cost estimates, collaborate on customer quotes, and refine quoting standards. The position also requires leading executive-level reporting on improvement opportunities, developing operational strategies, documenting best practices, and gaining a comprehensive understanding of the business's technical, quotation, process, and management aspects.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
- 8+ years of experience in industrial engineering, cost estimating, or process optimization within manufacturing.
- Proven track record of leading projects, mentoring team members, and driving measurable process improvements.
- Advanced knowledge of time studies, cost modeling, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement tools.
- Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems, cost estimating software, and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Responsibilities
- Champion lean manufacturing initiatives and continuous improvement programs across departments.
- Direct cross-functional teams during new product launches, ensuring smooth transition from quoting to production.
- Evaluate and recommend advanced tooling, equipment, and automation strategies to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Lead time studies, workflow analyses, and labor utilization projects to drive process efficiency.
- Provide technical support on cost estimates for new and existing products, incorporating labor standards, materials, tooling, and overhead.
- Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, and Operations to prepare accurate, competitive customer quotes.
- Maintain and refine quoting standards, databases, and process assumptions.
- Develop an understanding of the financial aspects as it relates to the P&L.
- Compare quoted assumptions to actual production results, and adjust standards as needed.
- Lead and provide executive-level reporting on improvement opportunities.
- Develop short-term and long-term strategies for operations.
- Document best practices and create standardized processes for quoting and industrial engineering activities.
- Develop a sound understanding of the technical, quotation, process, and management process of the business.
