About The Position

Enloe Health is a Level II Trauma Center located in beautiful Northern California, offering a full array of medical services with a mission to elevate the health of the communities it serves. This role is for an Advanced Practitioner (NP or PA) in the Neuro & Spine Clinic, focusing on person-centered care and collaboration. The Physician Assistant (PA) role involves providing and coordinating direct patient care under the direction of the Medical Director and onsite Supervising Physician. The PA may act as a first assistant to the supervising surgeon, providing diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventative healthcare services as delegated. The PA reports to the Total Joint/Spine Supervisor for operational and employee/employer issues and serves as a role model for Enloe Medical Center's core values. The Nurse Practitioner (NP) role also involves providing and coordinating direct patient care under the direction of the Medical Director and onsite Supervising Physician, offering diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventative healthcare services as delegated. The NP reports to the Manager Total Joint/Spine and Palliative Care Program for operational and employee/employer issues and embodies Enloe Medical Center's core values.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a PA educational program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission (ARC) on Education for Physician Assistants (or its predecessor agency) OR current certification with the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) (for PA).
  • Graduate of a Nurse Practitioner Program (for NP).
  • Current California Physician Assistant License (for PA).
  • Current certification with the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) if not graduate from an accredited PA school (for PA).
  • Current AHA-HCP CPR recognition.
  • Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) number or proof of application.
  • Credentialed through the Enloe Medical Staff and Finance Office (for PA).
  • Current licensure with the California Board of Registered Nursing (for NP).
  • Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner with the California Board of Registered Nursing (for NP).
  • Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner Furnisher with the California Board of Registered Nursing (for NP).
  • Meets Centers for Medi-Cal & Medicaid Services (CMS) criteria to bill Medicare (for NP).
  • Credentialed through the Enloe Medical Staff Office and Finance Office (for NP).

Nice To Haves

  • Recent Neurosurgery Clinical experience.
  • One-year clinical experience as a Physician Assistant in an acute care facility (for PA).
  • One-year clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner in an acute care facility (for NP).
  • Bilingual in Spanish.
  • Registered Nurse First Assistant Certification (for NP).

Responsibilities

  • Provide and coordinate direct patient care.
