About The Position

Clinica Sierra Vista is seeking an Advanced Practitioner (NP/PA) to provide medical services. This role involves patient evaluation, including histories and physical examinations for children, adults, and the elderly. The practitioner will develop diagnoses, order tests, and participate in diagnostic procedures. Collaboration with physicians is a key aspect of this role, as is participation in clinical activities across all clinic sites. The position emphasizes good interpersonal skills and participation in continuing education.

Requirements

  • Provide medical services for the patients of Clinica Sierra Vista.
  • Patient evaluation, including histories (brief and thorough) on children, adults and the elderly.
  • Physical examinations: focused or thorough, as needed to define patient problems adequately.
  • Develop diagnoses or differential diagnoses appropriate to patients’ complaints.
  • Order laboratory tests, X-rays and other diagnostic measures.
  • Participate in the performance of necessary diagnostic maneuvers such as anoscopy examination, pelvic examination and pap smears, electrocardiography, chest x-ray interpretation.
  • Ability to draw venous blood when needed.
  • Evaluate Patients for medication utilization or other therapeutic or preventative measures.
  • Counsel patients with respect to the meaning of health problems, the usefulness and rationales of laboratory and X-ray tests and the essentiality of preventative and therapeutic steps.
  • Suggest and help to implement referrals when indicated.
  • Carry out certain therapeutic and preventive maneuvers including place and removing I.U.D.’S, fitting diaphragms, suturing lacerations, and putting on casts for minor fractures.
  • All of the above activities are done in collaboration with Clinica’s physicians per privileges granted.
  • Participates in clinical activities in all clinic sites on a scheduled basis, in the same fashion as do physicians.
  • Demonstrates good interpersonal abilities with patients and associates.
  • Participates in clinical consultations with associates and continuing education both within the institution and extramurally.
  • Performs other work-related duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Consult with Physician when needed.
  • Order laboratory tests, X-rays, and other diagnostic measures.
  • Participate in diagnostic procedures such as anoscopy, pelvic exams, pap smears, and electrocardiography.
  • Draw venous blood when needed.
  • Evaluate patients for medication utilization or other therapeutic or preventative measures.
  • Counsel patients regarding health problems, tests, and preventative/therapeutic steps.
  • Suggest and help implement referrals when indicated.
  • Carry out therapeutic and preventive maneuvers like IUD insertion/removal, diaphragm fitting, suturing lacerations, and applying casts for minor fractures.
  • Perform all activities in collaboration with Clinica’s physicians per granted privileges.
  • Participate in clinical activities in all clinic sites on a scheduled basis.
  • Demonstrate good interpersonal abilities with patients and associates.
  • Participate in clinical consultations with associates and continuing education.
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
