About The Position

Hartford Healthcare is offering a unique two-year training and onboarding program for Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners to transition into the field of Clinical Informatics. This program provides comprehensive training in clinical information systems and cutting-edge technologies, with 25% of the time dedicated to informatics training and the remaining 75% spent in clinical practice. Upon completion, the informatics training portion will shift to key administrative responsibilities within the informatics program, focusing on system optimization and technology integration. Participants will gain hands-on experience in improving healthcare delivery and patient care through informatics tools and principles.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
  • Active Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant CT license.
  • Current certification.
  • Federal DEA license required.
  • 3+ years of experience as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner APRN.
  • Proficiency with EPIC EMR.
  • Demonstrated ability to positively interact with medical/nursing and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience in leading multidisciplinary teams and quality improvement projects.
  • Familiarity and interest in using data analytics and reporting tools (Tableau) to improve patient care.
  • Meet qualifications for a vacant clinical position within the system.

Nice To Haves

  • Masters/Doctoral degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in a comprehensive training program covering all aspects of clinical informatics, including data analysis, system implementation, user training, and policy development.
  • Obtain a Certificate in Clinical Informatics at Sacred Heart University through remote learning.
  • Collaborate with cohort members on projects and case studies that reflect real-world challenges.
  • Implement and optimize clinical information systems across Hartford Healthcare facilities.
  • Analyze healthcare data to improve patient outcomes and operational efficiencies.
  • Serve as a liaison between clinical staff and IT departments to enhance system usability and effectiveness.
  • Educate and train healthcare providers on new technologies and informatics practices.
